Early morning is the best time to go for a walk in El Coco. Between about 9-10 am and 4-5 pm, the heat is intense and we tend to lose energy and interest in physical activity. This morning, finally, we were up and out by 6:00 am, and were rewarded with plenty of shade and a (relatively) cool breeze.
This morning, we explored the northern end of the beach for the first time, before reversing direction and walking into town. The tide was very low and walking on hard-packed level sand, listening to the ocean waves, was delightful. (Video by Bob)
Back in town, we were ready for coffee and desayuno (breakfast). We decided to try Hotel Coco Palms - a place we had been once before for an evening drink and snack. We made a good choice!
Sitting in the shaded outdoor terrace by the pool and fountain, we enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee and very good breakfast in beautiful surroundings.

The best part was that the hotel had a very good wifi connection and we were able to use our Skype app on Bob's iPad to call home (Massachusetts) and talk with our two families and with our neighbor who is watching over our place while we are away. Today and tomorrow, they are expecting a blizzard there, and we wanted to touch base and make sure they were all OK.
We have been in El Coco for eleven days now and have tried several places for breakfast. Our favorites so far: Luna de Plata, aka the Creperie (for their coffee, croissants, and crepes - and for their good wifi connection), Woody's (for their delicious American-style breakfasts and friendly service), and now the Hotel Coco Palms (for their good food, lovely surroundings, and excellent wifi connection).
